Arya.ag — Scaling Fintech Infrastructure

for Security and Compliance in Agritech

Arya.ag, one of India’s leading agritech platforms, needed to modernize its cloud infrastructure to better serve its expansive warehousing, lending, and trading operations.

As a regulated entity under the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Arya.ag required robust solutions to meet compliance standards while also enhancing scalability, performance, and security.

Challenges

  • Unmanaged databases with no disaster recovery plan.
  • Inability to isolate regulated NBFC workloads from other services.
  • Lack of centralized security visibility and threat response.
  • Manual data pipelines slowing down business decision-making.
  • Exposure to security threats, including DDoS attacks and mismanaged credentials.

Solution

Arya.ag transformed its cloud environment by adopting a modular architecture using Google Cloud services:

  • Cloud SQL was deployed to decouple databases from VMs, enabling automated backups and Point-In-Time Recovery (PITR).
  • Shared VPC was implemented to isolate NBFC-regulated workloads from general infrastructure, improving audit readiness.
  • Cloud Armor was used to secure public endpoints by allowing only specific IPs and blocking DDoS traffic.
  • Security Command Center (SCC) Premium provided centralized security findings, alerting, and risk mitigation tracking.
  • Secret Manager was adopted for secure credential and API key storage, reducing the risk of data leaks.
  • Cloud Trace helped optimize performance by identifying service-level bottlenecks.
  • Dataflow and Datastream enabled real-time data processing and replication, reducing latency in reporting and improving business insights.

Result

Downtime during database recovery reduced from hours to minutes.

Security posture improved with proactive DDoS protection and centralized threat visibility.

Sensitive credentials are now securely stored and managed.

Regulatory audits are faster and more efficient due to better infrastructure segmentation and logging.

Business teams gained access to near real-time data, leading to smarter decisions and improved product alignment.

Infrastructure costs were reduced by 20% via sustained-use discounts and efficient scaling using Compute Engine.
